2020 Election Candidate Filings

The 2020 election season officially began with the filing of candidates this month.

Statewide U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe will face 3 primary opponents and then a Democrat, Libertarian, and Independent candidate in the fall should he secure the Republican nomination. Inhofe is currently the Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee. Inhofe, 86, was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1994 and previously served in the U.S. House from 1987 to 1984. He was the mayor of Tulsa from 1978 to 1984, and before that previously served in the Oklahoma legislature from 1967 to 1977.

Congressman Frank Lucas, R-Cheyenne, will face Democrat Zoe Midyett from Oklahoma City in the Nov. general election.

Corporation Commissioner Todd Hiett drew a primary opponent and a general election libertarian opponent.
