Despite impressive defense, Lady Eagles’

The Hennessey Lady Eagles’ volleyball season came to an end last Thursday against Union City in the Regional Tournament at Chisholm High School. While the Lady Eagles had a season that saw them ranked as high as 11th in Class 3A, they were beaten in three-straight sets against the Lady Tigers. Hennessey dropped the three sets by scores of 25-6, 25-9, and 25-4. Coach Matt Means and the Lady Eagles finished the regular season at 9-14, but showed a lot of promise for a young team without a single senior. “I am proud of them,” said Means. “It was a good season-long effort. We got close to a lot of our goals this year. One them was being a .500 team. We know we could have been there. We dropped a few we shouldn’t have, and I think we learned from it that we have to play up to our level, not the competitions.”
