Eagles compete at state meet
The Hennessey Eagles had four participants compete in the State Track Meet last weekend in Moore, with a pair bringing home medals from the event.
Freshman Madison Collier has been turning heads all season long with her throws in the shotput and discus, and this weekend turned out to be no different. On Friday, Collier produced the top throw in the shotput preliminaries at 39’1½” inches, advancing to the finals in the event.
In the finals, Collier would put together in three solid throws, including one of 39’3”, but she fell just short of the 40-foot toss that won the event. Collier has been routinely hitting throws of more than 40’ this season, but on this day, she just couldn’t get enough behind one. She finished third in the event.
