Eagles hoping to repeat last year’s playoff performance against Luther

For the second-straight week, the Hennessey Eagles (0-5) will attempt to get their first win of district play against an opponent they beat in 2017. The Luther Lions (1-4) are fresh off their first victory of the season against Oklahoma Centennial, and are still searching for their first win at home. Coach Rick Luetjen has been cautious with his injured players, but last week he finally allowed Zane Hugaboom to take snaps on the defensive side after having been limited to just quarterback in the last two contests.

Hopefully Kevin Suarez will be able to go as well, giving the defense threefourths of their original secondary back. Suarez suffered a lower-body injury two weeks ago, and tried to push through it last week. Unfortunately, he came up limping again in the second quarter after diving for a pass, and there will be no word on whether he will play until later in the week.
