Eagles struggle in a rough week on the diamond

It was a busy stretch for the Hennessey LThe Hennessey High School baseball team had a rough week dropping four of five games including three of four in their hometown baseball tournament. After dropping a Monday-night contest at Newkirk 2-5, the Eagles defeated the Sante Fe South JV 19-5 in the first game of the tournament on Thursday.

Hennessey strung together an 11-run second inning and an eight-run third to take care of the Saints. Wade Vinson, Cooper Fuksa and Noah Moery each had two hits and two RBI, while Zane Hugaboom drove in three runs and Kaden Hawk reached base three times, including a two-run triple.

Moery also pitched going three innings, while striking out five and allowing two earned runs. Patrick Tillman also pitched an inning, striking out one, while only giving up an unearned run.
