Eagles working to grasp Hix’s new system
The Hennessey Eagles have been hitting the gridiron for two weeks now for spring practices, and despite some storms dictating when and how Coach Paul Hix could get the guys
After a decade of Rick Luetjen calling the shots as head coach, the Hennessey players will be adapting to a new system under Hix, making the spring work all the more vital to next fall’s success. Hix is installing a high-tempo offense in which players don’t huddle up very often.
While injuries in 2018 to senior Zane Hugaboom and Cole Joyce forced the team to resort to an extremely runheavy offense, Hix will be relying on passing the football much more often, while also installing various runpass options.
