Emil B. Fuksa

Prayer vigil for Emil B. Fuksa, 97, was at 6:30 p.m. Sun., Oct. 23, 2016 at Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home, Hennessey. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10 a.m. Mon., Oct. 24, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bison and officiated by Rev. Ed Menasco. Burial followed at Bison Cemetery. Emil was born at Bison on March 8, 1919 to Joseph A. and Frances Kudlac Fuksa and died Thurs., Oct. 20, 2016 on the farm he was born on with his daughters and a granddaughter at his side. He married Mary Agnes Navratil in Marshall on Aug. 27, 1940. Emil was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bison and the #1 Oklahoma Polka Club. He was a lifelong farmer in the Bison, Waukomis and Hennessey area. Emil is survived by two daughters Elaine Beale and husband Elmus of Tulsa, Noreen Eccleston and husband Mark of Greenwood, Ark.; four grandchildren Kathleen Eccleston and Jennifer Eccleston both of Denver, Colo., Emily Alexander and husband Jonathan of Dallas, Texas, Allison Cascio and husband Jason of Chicago, Ill. and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary. Memorial donations may be made in his name through the funeral home to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bison Building Fund or the American Heart Association.
