Fate of Hennessey PTO Carnival
Hennessey’s Elementary Parent Teacher Organization works to raise funds for the elementary school, its students and its teachers each year. With the 2018-2019 schoolyear ended, students and teachers look back at the events from the year. PTO head, Chandra Seiger, offered updates and concerns about one past fundraiser: the Hennessey PTO Carnival, held Friday, Apr. 19.
This event boasted multiple activities hoping to raise funds, including 10 inflatables, seven carnival games, face paint, sand art, bingo, cake walk, wagon rides, dunker pool, glitter tattoos, a spinning ride called “Twin Spin” and more.
“This is our largest fundraiser we have, and we try to do it every year,” Seiger stated. “The PTO, we just kind of give back to the students and the teachers and provide the extras that we can. So, all the money that is raised… we put back into the school.”
Seiger went on to discuss what the event offered this year in greater detail. “We have all the carnival games. We have the Art [class] that does face painting. We have the high school cheerleaders down the hall that does glitter tattoos, and then we have sand art bracelets, cake walk… We do hand spun cotton candy, and then we have all the inflatables here, and then inflatables outside and inflatables in the middle school gym.”
