Fifth/sixth grade boys end season with a win

The Hennessey fifth/sixth grade teams welcomed the Okeene Whippets to town last Monday for their final action of the season. While the girls lost in a thriller to the Lady Whippets, the boys won in their return to the hardwood.

The Lady Eagles struggled to score early against Okeene, but only found themselves down by two at halftime thanks to six points from Katelyn Kennedy. Kennedy was Hennessey’s leading scorer in the game with 12 points in the loss, including sinking four of her six free-throw attempts.

Hennessey made a few pushes in the second half but could never gain the lead for themselves, as the two-point lead held with the Lady Eagles falling 21-19. Selah Ashlock scored six points herself, while Kendyll Miller added a first half free throw.
