Friends of the Library Holds Annual Chili Cook-off
Friends of the Hennessey Library held their annual Chili Cook-off, Sat., Jan. 26, at the Hennessey High School Cafeteria.
Guests to the event were treated to multiple kinds of chili, including some that was made from brisket or deer. After sampling each one, both guests and other contestants voted for their favorites in four categories.
According to Susan States, FOL Chili Cook-off Coordinator, the winners for Chili Cooks’ Choice included a tie for third place between King’s Rental, Girl Scouts and Community State Bank; second place went to Triple M Truck and Auto, and Choate Oilfield took first. Best Table Decorations handed out third place to LaPorte’s, second place to 4 T’s, and first place to Lippard Realty. The awards for People’s Choice saw a tie for third place with Mike Harris and Matousek Vet Clinic. Second place for this award went to Girl Scouts, and Choate Oilfield walked away with first place. The final competition was for Top Dollar. Community State Bank took third, Girl Scouts came in at second, and Tim Taylor 4T’s won first place.
