He was the youngest of 7 children and always told many stories with a vivid memory of times growing up in Hennessey, whether it be mischief with his brothers or working for his Dad at the Star Mill Elevator. Haden graduated from Hennessey High School where he was involved in many school functions especially baseball and football. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War for 4 years (1952-1956) and always spoke highly of all the men he served with.

He was involved in all sporting activities whether it be coaching softball for Rita or Julie and baseball and football with Kevin. His career was a computer operator for Geophysical Service Inc. (whom later became Halliburton) for 34 years. After retirement, he enjoyed being a member of the Lions Club making eye glasses for the underprivileged and of course, serving at the Pancake Jamboree. He received many accolades from Texas Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center including the Melvin Jones Fellow for dedicated humanitarian services Lions Club International Foundation.

His ministry was serving both Northside and Crestview Baptist as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and various committees including the XYZ ministry. One of his favorite past-times was going fishing at Lake Brownwood bringing home the big one or just a little rest and relaxation. A big sports fan, watching baseball and football including kids and grandkids, always very proud.
