Hennessey’s Joyce headed to UCO to play football
Last Wednesday was National Signing Day, where high school seniors from across the country signed Letters of Intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level moving forward. For Hennessey, Dalton Joyce finalized his commitment by signing to play football at the University of Central Oklahoma.
“It means a lot to me,” said Joyce. “I’ve worked my whole life to be in this position. My coaches pushed me to be the person and player that I am, and my mom was always there to supports me. I appreciate them for helping me get here.”
“It’s a special day for him, and a really special day for us,” said Coach Rick Luetjen. “He has been a big part of our program since he started as a freshman. He is one of those rare kids that comes in with special ability and work ethic. He was born to play football, and we are excited he is going to continue his career.”
Joyce was a four-year starter for Hennessey on the gridiron, starting on both sides of the ball as an offensive and defensive lineman. He collected 228 tackles in four years, including 19 sacks and 23 tackles for loss.
