Hennessey boys climb to No. 5 in the state Girls score big win at Pioneer

The Hennessey High School basketball teams had a strong week that started off with some exciting news. The boys climbed to No. 5 in the class after defeating Hooker to win the tournament in Pioneer the week prior, and are now the only team left unbeaten in the top

10. The Eagles lived up to that ranking win both contests this week, while the girls continued to show improvement splitting their two games.

The Crescent Lady Tigers jumped out to a commanding 22-4 lead over the Lady Eagles on Tuesday, but Coach Haylie Simunek’s girls never gave up. Down 22 at the half, they outscored Crescent 19-10 in the third quarter, before cutting the lead back to single-digits in the final frame.
