Hennessey to host eventful weekend
The Town of Hennessey and the Hennessey Public Library have some exciting events coming up this month.
The Hennessey Public Library will have its annual book sale Monday, Sept. 16 through Friday, Sept. 20 and the town will host its Town Garage Sale Saturday, Sept. 21.
Hennessey Library Director Ruth Ann Replogle said the library will offer big discounts at the book sale, which will lead into the town-wide garage sale. Aside from the town garage sale, the First Baptist Church hosts The Setting Pretty Social at 10 a.m. There is no charge to attend the social, but tables are available for decorating. Any local individual or business can sponsor a table by contacting the church office. The event will run until 1 p.m.
There will also be a three-mile and one-mile fun run, the ninth annual Hennessey Wine and Chocolate Festival at 1 p.m. and the Hennessey Horseman Club Play Day at 2 p.m. Participants can pre-register for the fun run at Eagle Propane or at Memorial Park the day of the race. Registration starts at 6 a.m. and the race is from 7 to 9 a.m. Adults are $10 and kids are free.
