Hennessey strength and conditioning program firing on all cylinders as football approaches
The calendar has turned over to July which means the Hennessey Eagles’ football team is entering the prime of their strength and conditioning program. Baseball and basketball tournaments have pretty much wrapped up, meaning focus is turning to the gridiron, and that starts with preparing their bodies for a grueling season.
“We give our guys the month of June off, where workouts aren’t expected to be their top priority,” said head coach Rick Luetjen. “We know some of them are playing basketball and baseball, and that gives them an opportunity to focus on that, and not worry about football too much. Those kids that play multiple sports get stretched a little thin over the summer, but I do love the fact those guys are doing it. In today’s society, there is no reason for kids to limit themselves to one sport or activity because they don’t honestly know what they are going to be good at or passionate about down the road.”
