Hennessey United, Cherokee
Hennessey United and the Cherokee Strip Community Foundation out of Enid came together for a dinner meeting May 8, to discuss the options for the newly established Hennessey Legacy Foundation. The groups met at Eat It Up to discuss ideas and share fundraising tips. Approximately 40 people who are active within the community came to hear concepts from CSCF about how they grew into the organization they are today and how Hennessey can use those ideas for HLF.
The partnership between HU and CSCF seeks to offer endowment options for anyone wishing to take part in providing growth within Hennessey through endowment gifts that will be invested and maintained in perpetuity. Contributions can reportedly be made as a direct gift, a memorial, a bequest and a charitable lead trust or charitable remainder trust, just to name a few ways. Likewise, the forms endowments can take are non-cash assets, cash and more. Non-cash assets include, but are not limited to, stocks and real estate.
