Hennessey welcomes Paul Hix as new head football coach and athletic director
Hennessey welcomes a new face to the Eagles’ football program, as they named Paul Hix as their new head football coach and athletic director earlier this month. The school board voted to bring him in after setting up a search committee to find a what they called “the right fit” to fill both the positions that were made available when the school board elected to table the voting for coaching assignments moving into next year.
The committee targeted less than a handful of candidates, and ultimately recommended Hix for the job, based on his value of the process of not only growing the kids as athletes but also students and adults. They felt Nix was not only the right fit for Hennessey sports but Hennessey High School in general, and believe bringing him fits with the culture of the school.
“I believe that football is a life-changing sport,” said Hix. “It offers the opportunity for young men to grow and learn a lot about not just the game but life. I aim to have a positive influence on the guys through the game and to teach them as much as I can while I’ve got them, and hopefully we win some football games along the way.”
