Injuries and early turnovers spell trouble for Hennessey against Kingfisher
The Hennessey Eagles (0-2) dropped Friday night’s contest to rival-Kingfisher, 32-14 in a game where neither team had their starting quarterback. Kingfisher’s Jeff Sternberger sat out with an injury, while Zane Hugaboom was limited to only punting duties thanks to a hurt shoulder.
“Zane banged it up last week,” said Coach Rick Luetjen. “We worked with him a little bit during practice, but we didn’t want to risk it with district coming up in a couple of weeks. We decided it was best to keep him out.”
