John Arthur (Jack) Eckroat
On Monday, July 13, 2020, Oklahoma lost a great man, John Arthur (Jack) Eckroat. He was a Dad, husband, friend, golfing buddy, POA horse showing Dad, Oklahoma State University alumni, PhD, and professor, and so much more. He will be greatly missed.
Family will have his Celebration of Life on a date to be determined due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jack was born On April 2, 1943, at St Anthony Hospital, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Kathryn E. And William M. Eckroat, Jr. He graduated from St Gregory High School, in Shawnee, Oklahoma and went on to college at none other than Oklahoma State University, in Stillwater, Ok where he not only earned his Bachelor but his Masters in Agronomy and later went on to get his PhD in GIS at OSU. During this time he served his country as a Lieutenant in the Air Force Reserves during Vietnam War era from 1963 to 1976. He was a successful businessman with his brother Tom Eckroat owning and operating Eckroat Seed Company, in Hennessey, Ok., partner in Aggie Oil Company, member of First Christian Church in Hennessey, and avid OSU football supporter.
He is survived by his daughters Carrie Eckroat-Feuerborn with granddaughter Kara Feuerborn of Edmond, OK, Meagan and Scott States with grandsons Garrett, Brayden, and Trevor States of Kingfisher, OK, and Kristen and Greg Alexander with grandsons Dalton and Austin Douglas of Keller, TX. He is also survived by his brother, Tony Eckroat of Edmond, OK and his sister, Susie Crespino of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father, William M. Eckroat III, mother, Kathryn E. Eckroat, brothers, William M. Eckroat IV and Tom Eckroat, and sister Anita Cooper. He always had a smile
on his face, sparkling eyes, a true joy for life and made everyone feel the same. Our Dad was a great Man!
