The Hennessey track teams had a busy schedule last week with each level competing in a meet. While the middle school and high school teams each competed in Okeene, the fifth and sixth graders competed in Chisholm on Wednesday morning.

On Monday, the middle school teams headed to Okeene for the 9th Annual Junior High Whippet Relays, where the girls’ team was able to score eight points, and the boys put up 12 points.

Taryn Jech scored eight points with her second-place finish in the mile run. Her time of 6:19.39, was just a second ahead of the thirdplace finisher.

For the boys, Adam Valdez was the top performer, scoring all 12 of Hennessey’s points. He earned four points with his fourth-place effort in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04. Valdez also finished second in the discus with a toss of 107 feet, nine inches.
