Lady Eagles aim to take next step in Simunek’s second year as coach

Last week, the Hennessey high school team traveled to Amber-Pocasset High School for their three-day team camp. It was the first competition the Lady Eagles have seen as a team thus far this summer, and for Coach Haylie Simunek, it marked the beginning of her second year running the program.

For the returning high school girls, it was an opportunity for the younger players to finally step into bigger roles with more minutes. Last season, Coach Simunek rotated a variety of girls, both seniors and underclassmen. With five seniors graduating, underclassmen like Kassidy Amburn, Juliana Macy and Harlee Dowell are taking on bigger roles, while future seniors Meagan Tillman and Skye Simunek are becoming the leaders on the court.
