Lady Eagles continue to build momentum

Boys cruise to 9-0

The Hennessey Eagles wrapped up the fall semester with a pair of games on December 17 and 18, as the girls were able to split their two games and the boys were able to remain undefeated.

The week started with a trip to the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City for a matchup with the Watonga Eagles. The girls kicked things off with a 47-43 loss to Watonga, despite a furious comeback-attempt by the Hennessey Lady Eagles.

With Coach Haylie Simunek’s girls entering the fourth quarter down by 10, Hennessey put up 21 points in the final frame thanks to 23 free-throw attempts in the quarter. Hennessey sank 14 of their shots from the charity stripe but were unable to limit Watonga’s offense, leading to the four-point loss.
