Lady Eagles still hard at work competing as the Oklahoma Shockers
While the Hennessey Lady Eagles basketball players are done competing in team events affiliated with the high school, that doesn’t mean they aren’t still competing this summer. The high school team made up two squads named the Oklahoma Shockers, and on June 22 and 23 they competed at the Mid America Youth Basketball Tournament in Oklahoma City.
Not only did the high school girls compete as a team in the high school division, but the ninth and tenth graders got a chance to double up by splitting off and competing in a separate division.
While, the ninth and tenth graders only won one of their five contests, the competition is giving a lot of young players an opportunity to develop, knowing that the high school squad is going to need them to play bigger roles this season.
Not only did returning contributors such as Kassidy Amburn, Gracie Mills, Juliana Macy and Harlee Dowell get an opportunity to continue their growth as players, but up-and-comers like Karlee and Kamree McNulty, Hunter Miller, Noelle Pollard, Larissa Macy and Yuridia Perez all showed that they are ready to step up as well.
