Miriam Jean Cofer

Memorial service for Miriam Jean Cofer, 69, Hennessey, will be at 10 a.m. today (Thurs., July 28, 2016) at First Christian Church officiated by Rev. Mickey Moery. Cremation arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home. Miriam was born at Petersburg, Alaska on June 22, 1947 to Conner and Bernice Mathison Kinnear and died Sun., July 24, 2016 at Hennessey Care Center. She married David Cofer in Petersburg, Alaska on August 27, 1965. The couple moved to Hennessey in July 1967 where David taught and coached. Miriam worked at First National Bank in Hennessey for 34 years. She is survived by her husband, David of the home; one son, Les Cofer and wife Chas of Hennessey; five grandchildren, Colby Puckett, Jacy Puckett both of Edmond, Cierra Cofer of Broken Arrow, Ashley Burris and Jordan Burris both of Hennessey, and one sister, Sandi Hutton and husband Randy of Eagle Point, Ore. Miriam was preceded in death by one daughter, Sheri Cofer Puckett; one sister, Carol Kinnear; her parents, and grandmother Beulah Owsley. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
