Rye farmers are left out in the field

Oklahoma wheat farmers consider an excess of rye to be a nuisance. This harvest season, rye farmers and seed companies can agree with them. An overstock of rye has led to a drop in prices from 15 cents per lb. to five cents per lb. in a year. Local seed dealers such as JLee Co. and L. Stewart’s, still have rye in storage from last year, and refuse to accept more this year, they said.
