Stitt upbeat about Oklahoma’s future at OEPA luncheon
Governor Kevin Stitt addressed the Oklahoma Energy Producer’s Alliance at a private luncheon in Oklahoma City last Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019.
Stitt was very upbeat about the future of the state, and last year’s legislative session.
Stitt noted that increased salaries to Oklahoma teachers now placed Oklahoma’s teacher salaries at the top of their peers, over all of Oklahoma’s surrounding states.
In addition, Stitt noted that over $200 million had been earmarked and deposited into the state’s rainy day fund, should any future revenue decline issues effect our state.
In total the state’s rainy day fund now has over $1 billion in its account under Stitt’s leadership.
Stitt emphasized the need for higher education to focus more efforts on research and development in order to attract more industry to the state.
