Oklahoma City – School is almost out, the summer air has arrived, and grilling season is in full swing; just in time for to celebrate May Beef Month. You can celebrate all month-long knowing beef is a nutrient rich food providing Zinc, Iron, Protein, B-vitamins, and much more.
A three-ounce serving of lean beef contributes less than 10 percent of calories in a 2,000-calorie diet, while providing 51 percent of the Daily Value for protein. Oklahoma consumers can feel good about loving beef and feeding their families beef because this source of protein is a powerful nutrient that strengthens and sustains their bodies. These essential nutrients found in beef provide our bodies and minds with the fuel we need at all stages of life to be the strongest versions of ourselves.
