Town board swears in new trustee Hennessey United is discussed
Hennessey Town Hall held its monthly meeting Monday, May 13.
The first matter of business for the meeting was the swearing in of Town Trustees, Clif Vogt and Richard Simunek, and Town Clerk, Tiffany Tillman. Simunek was the newest member of the board, replacing the former Mayor, Mike Shaw. Shaw was replaced as mayor by Bert Gritz, with Clif Vogt as Vice-Mayor.
Barbara Walter was present to discuss a recent meeting of Hennessey United and The Hennessey Legacy Fund. The Cherokee Strip Community Foundation attended that meeting to offer their guidance for developing the HLF. Concepts for the group’s fundraising efforts that were mentioned included challenging groups using donation matching options. Additionally, it was stated that other towns have found this method beneficial in raising funds from businesses, organizations, individuals and families seeking donation opportunities to honor deceased loved ones.
