Trump announces aid for farmers during trade negotiations

President Donald Trump announced last week a $12 billion aid package to help compensate farmers for losses while the Trump administration negotiates new trade terms with China and other countries that have taken advantage of the U.S. for decades.

U.S. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue unveiled the aid package as a threepart deal that would include direct payments to farmers, purchases of U.S. agriculture commodities, and trade promotion efforts.
