Vivian Nadine Wente
Vivian Nadine Wente was born Sept. 22, 1928, to Virgil and Hazel (Storer) Wennihan in Allison, Kan. She joined her heavenly father Sat., Sept. 15, 2018, at her home in Hennessey, Okla. Vivian graduated from Jennings High School in 1946. She then married Virgil Walker and they had two children, Elwood and Susan. The Walkers later divorced. Vivian then married Lloyd Wente in 1966. She spent years traveling state-to-state doing the cooking and whatever else needed done for the custom harvesting crew Lloyd ran during harvest season. For a few years the couple took time off from harvesting and drove a semi-truck hauling cattle. In 2013, Vivian and Lloyd made their home in Hennessey. She was a member of the Dover Christian Church. Vivian is survived by a daughter, Susan Anderson of Hennessey, and daughter-in-law, Marilyn Walker; step-son Daniel Wente of Hoxie, Kan., step-daughter Rhonda of Hoxie, Kan., and her late husband, Tom White, step-daughter Lynne Tull and her husband Rick of Topeka, Kan., sisters June McGatlin of Seattle, Wash., and Carol Bell and her husband Ron of Antilope, Calif., sister- in- law Sharon Wennihan of Bakersfield, Calif. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Elwood Walker, her husband, Lloyd Wente, parents Virgil and Hazel Wennihan, sister Vergie Went, step-son Allen Wente, brothers Fred, Patrick and Mike Wennihan and one infant brother. Rev. Fred Jones will officiate a memorial service at 2 p.m. October 20 at Dover Christian Church.
